When to start puree or solid?

Hi,my bb turning 5 months. Next review is when bb will turn 6 months 3 weeks. Can I start to give puree the supermarket bb jar one to start first at 6th month?

around 6 months, after baby can sit unsupported & is showing interest in food! I prefer steaming and blending my own food purees :) eg sweet potatoes, pumpkin, carrot...
