Baby refuses to clean her tongue

My baby is going 9mo. Recently, it has been getting harder to clean her tongue as she refuses to open her mouth. Mummies, any tips to share on how you all clean LO tongue? And I’m not sure if it’s because she is teething soon, that’s why she refuses to clean her tongue and gums?

I will usually do it when she is deep in sleep or when trying to feed her puree
