Some parents have cut open their kid's giraffes and found mould inside, so I'd actually recommend the standard gel teethers. These can be frozen or chilled in the fridge to provide relief for baby's swollen gums. Pigeon is a trusted brand, and I'll be getting these gel teethers for my baby. http://www.whattoexpect.com/forums/april-2015-babies/topic/beware-sophie-the-giraffe.html
My babies like Sofie the Giraffe. You might notice the paints might drop off, the black spots are food graded material so it's safe for baby to chew on.
