My mom or dad never missed a PTA meeting during my sibs and I grade school and high school days. The main benefit is that parents get to know the progress and what not of their kids in school as the teacher normally have a 1 on 1 discussion with the class adviser. Also, parents esp in public schools get to know what are the things the students would need in terms of facilities. We all know that gov't funds for school is just enough. So during PTA meetings parents brainstorm on how they can address the issues and raise funds also that will somehow lift the burden of the teachers and students.

For me it is essential. Mas magiging informed ka kung ano ang nangyayari sa school and class ng anak mo. Also, it is an opportunity for parents to ask questions and give suggestions. Also, attending PTA meetings shows your child that you care and you have time for them.
