Here are some home remedies which you can try out on top of the medications prescribed by the doctors. Keeping him hydrated is the key for recovery for Gastroenteritis aka stomach flu. Ensure that he takes sips of water or even oralities periodically. Once he is able to tolerate liquid, then you can slowly start to reintroduce plain food such as, plain crackers, applesauce, plain toast, bananas. Always remember to keep them in small portions. He will also be required to have plenty of rest. http://www.parents.com/health/stomach-ache/tummy-trouble-mistakes/ Hope this would help.

I'm sorry that your son is feeling sick. Stomach flu is the pits and for a 6 year old, the discomfort is probably trippled. Make sure your son gets enough water in his system and you can try feeding him the following: bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. These should be your go-to when it comes to an uneasy stomach.

Lots of water! If not dehydration. Can give ribena, glucouse water, 100+, coconut water. Try to give smaller meals, can have some biscuits in between. Dont have food thats difficult to digest.

maybe you try to give light foods as porridge or noodles soup in small meals and drink plenty of water. in between can give some bread or biscuits. hope you boy get well soon.
