"Sticky" Food for Toddlers
At which age can children eat food such as glutinous rice ball (汤圆) or mochi? I wanted to let my boy try, but I'm not sure if it might cause choking.
Little Footprints
Hello, any reviews on Little Footprints specifically the one at Sengkang 205? It's not my ideal one, compared to their other centres in Sengkang which will be closer to my house. However it's the only one with availability now so can't be picky now. I really want to be sure if on their quality in terms of teachers and centre hygiene etc though. Thank you!
The Children's Discovery Centre Review
Hello, looking for reviews of The Children's Discovery Centre (childcare). Specifically looking at the Rivervale Crescent branch, though reviews for other branches are welcomed too. Thank you!!
Weekend Preschool
I don't suppose there's any preschool that operates on both Saturday and Sunday as well? I don't plan to send him to school 7 days a week, it's just that I work on both weekends (and 2 weekdays). While my parents can look after on the 2 weekdays, the weekend is a concern right now. I would prefer sending my boy to a preschool rather than hiring a nanny too. But can't seem to find any weekend preschool sigh.
Affordable Enrichment
My boy is 14 months now and I'm looking into some enrichment classes for him to socialize with other kids and also engage in meaningful activities. I'm not keen on "academic" types, leaning towards things like sports, music, etc. At the same time, cost is a concern too. Do you have any affordable enrichment to recommend? Drop off classes are preferred as well, as it's hard to commit due to my work schedule. Thanks!!
Nap Schedule
What's the nap schedule like for your child at 12+ months?
Babyproofing New House
I'm getting my resales flat soon. It's my first house and first child (12+ months), so I like to ask for some advice / tips on babyproofing the house. Specifically, there is a mirror wall (it's one huge piece of mirror covering the entire wall) in the living room. We are considering to remove it, but if we like to keep it, anyway to prevent breaking? My boy likes to throw things now or hit things. While the mirror doesn't seem fragile, I like to take precautions. Or is there anything to paste on it, so in the event it breaks, it will not shatter into small pieces? If there's no good ways, then I guess we just have to remove the mirror.
Preschool with Small Ratio
Can anyone recommend a preschool with low teacher-student ratio? I feel like the ecda ratio is too high, feels like the teacher might not be able to give every child sufficient attention. Thanks!
Bringing Baby to Karaoke
Hello, I'm wondering if it's ok to bring a kid to ktv (e.g. kbox). Planning a meet up with my friends and will be bringing my boy along. He should be a little past 1 year old by then. If it's not advisable, then I'll plan something else. How old was your child when you first brought him?
Toys for 10 Months Old
My 9+ months boy seems to not like playing with toys. I feel like I've been getting the wrong types for him (i.e. electronic kinds that make sounds when you press buttons, etc). I saw online that open ended toys are good for their development and they might have more interest. What do you recommend for a 9+ months boy? I'm unable to give him things like cardboard box as he'll just eat it.
