Only gestational sac at week 6. Is this normal?

Went for scan yesterday and gynae only saw gestational sac (around week 6) although it grew in size compared to the last visit 4 days ago. Did transvaginal scan and it's also the same. Hope my hcg increases..going for blood test after that.

my scan at week 6 only showed the gestational sac too. might have been too early and there's a possibility of later than expected ovulation too. am scheduled for another scan in 2 weeks and hoping for the best! all the best to you too :)

Should we book a nanny now?

Has anyone giving birth in Oct started booking a nanny? Is if tough to book their slot? Any recommendation is welcome!

Yes you should start looking for a nanny now! Do take note and remember it’s dragon year, hence there will be more babies and it would be harder to find!

First trimester mood and appetite

Hello mummies! First time mum here, I'm into my 6 weeks and always feeling tired. My appetite comes and goes, always bloated too. Haven't gotten the nauseous part yet. Is this normal?

Choosing of gynae

First pregnancy here and currently at week 7. Is anyone able to share how you guys decide the gynae to go to? Subsidy vs non-subsidy, are there a huge difference? If I go through the subsidy route, when is a good time to switch to private so I can book my preferred gynae?

I chose my gynae based on my mum’s recommendation and just nice he delivers at my preferred hospital. Mine was private, single bedder, natural birth and all in (inclusive of checkups till delivery) was approx $4K Medisave, $8K cash. Differences- Private: - Stick to one gynae thru out - More expensive - Shorter appointments between checkups - Can take single bedder Subsidised: - Gynae changes thru out - Way cheaper and most probably will still get back cash cheque after birth. - Longer appointments between checkups - Can only choose up to a certain ward (no single) Best to do it around week 20 but it’s up to your comfort, some do it around week 30 . Do note that if you have a preferred gynae, it is up to their availability and not all gynaes are willing to take midway patients.

Hi, first time mum here. Im currently at 4 weeks pregnant. Will be going for my first visit to KKH next week. Anyone can share what to expect for first visit? And should i prep any questions before my visit? Would be great if u could share the process at KKH too. Thanks #adviceplease

Excuses to avoid raw food and alcohol before announcing pregnancy

Hello! I'm 5w5d pregnant and got a few work and social events coming up. Just wondering if anyone has thought of creative excuses to use to avoid eating raw food and drinking alcohol in these settings. Colleagues and friends know I take sashimi and drink alcohol pre-pregnancy. Thanks in advance!

Confinement nanny or helper?

We are both working adults and I’m thinking if we need a confinement nanny still if we are going to hire a helper?? If there are no parents support, how many mummies trust the helper to take care?

I think confinement lady helps u with not just e baby but also ur food meals. I don't think a helper is experienced on confinement food

In my first trimster now, just wondering what kind of canned drinks can I order? Ice lemon tea? Green tea?

You can drink anything as long as in moderation. No issue with drinking Pokka range of tea in bottle
