Gynae visit post partum

Hi, I am scheduled for a gynae checkup 6 weeks after delivery. Does anyone know the purpose of the checkup? Can I not go for it as I feel fine around the stitched areas?

Perhaps this check is follow up and to also check on your stitches. I didnt had follow up at KKH but NUH yes eventhough I am under subsidy. They check on stitches, after birth follow up and contraceptive as well as checking on my vaginal area if there's any other issue like if you feel pain duing sex,etc.

40+3weeks, no signs of labour

40+3weeks now, no signs of labour yet, I am so anxious, everyday worry about baby movement, woundering if something wrong. Everyday need to answer people as people caring about me and my baby, but I feel exhausted to answer those already. I started HL since week 34, due to leg tiredness and shortness of breath, everybody including me thought I will have earlier delivery. And due to the infection, doctor mentioned risk of premature. But now, ai, no signs at all. Sleep disturbance, frequent urination, back pain, heavy body, too good appetite, gain weight super fast these 3weeks, day by day feeling the feet and hands swelling getting worse... ... Anxious...

If this is your first child, you will experience sometimes no signs of labour which will lead to induce day being assigned to you. Usually first child will take longer. However depend on individual. My first child was 41 weeks 1 day, second child was 40 weeks 2 days. Only first child was induce but second was not. I didnt get to experience all birth symptoms like most people mentioned. My both kids past EDD and I was 3cm dilate. For second child I only had mild contractions but not active or gradually close. Was I tired? Yes. Was I nervous? Yes. But I try to be calm, talk to baby, embrace last few weeks of the moment. And at any time I feel too tired or anything, Ill let doctor or spouse know about it. I try to do some light exercise to also help in my labour. Just relax and do what you can, for swelling of feet use compression socks and put pillow below your feet. And frequent urination is common esp nearing to last lap. Do watch signs of mucus plug, bleeding, leaking of waterbag and contractions at any point from now till next appointment (if you are being assign a date)

Hi mummies ! I just want to check. According to my doc and their calculations, I’m currently at 36w with an AFI of 6.7cm. But according to my calculations I’m at 37w4d. Scheduled to induce on 15/03. Should I be worried about my AFI ?

EDD coming but no appointment

I need help and advice. Went for my check up last Friday 3rd march and doctor told me my next appointment will be next week because i haven dilated and baby head still high. So nurse told me to check on the app for my upcoming appointment but did not receive any. So called the contact service on monday 6 march and in the afternoon I finally received my next appointment which is on 13 march. BUT… My EDD is on 9 march. What should i do? Wait till i have contraction then proceed to delivery ward? Or wait till 13 march?

You can either call in and ask them to schedule an appointment 1-2 days before your EDD and 1-2 days after your EDD instead of 4 days, or just wait till you experience contractions then call your the delivery ward. Depending on each pregnancy, your gynae will be able to advise should there be any emergencies. For my case: EDD 26/12, scan on 21/12, gynae wanted to induce on EDD but cancelled cause he was busy lol haha. I was asked to go down to his clinic for a scan on 28/12. Scan in the noon, induce at night due to low fluid 😅.

Vaginal stitches

Healing of vaginal stitches, Hi first time mum here. Had vaginal stitches during my delivery it has been 7days since I gave birth but I still feel painful using the bathroom and when I walk and sit all.. not sure if my wound has healed anot or if I require new stitches or anything.

You will not require new stitches. Two times being a mum and stitches of vaginal area twice 🤭🥲😅 You can try sitz bath using epsom salt with warm water and do twice a day for 15 to 30 mins. Alternatively, use epi-kool pad and let the pain be numb.

38 weeks checkup

38 weeks checkup coming soon at KKH. What do they check during your 38th week?

I’m a SUB at kkh. They only checked baby’s heartbeat. That’s all. 39 weeks only then check cervix & ultrasound. That’s what they said.

When to go hospital?

Hi mommies! I’m at my 38 weeks 3days today. Last check up, gynae did mentioned baby head is already down but advice to induce this coming week(which i dont want to) . I’ve do exercises, walks and more. As for now, i will ended up peeing after walking & exercising. Does this mean, I’m going labour soon? Fyi, no discharge at all. Just cramping at times

strong contractions @ 39 weeks, day 4-5

anyone had strong contractions - 3-6 mins intervals lasting about few seconds to a minute during early labour? i am only at 1cm dilated but the contractions were intense even after pain relief injection.

yes. i stayed at home for about 6 hours before it intensified and i went to hospital
