Recommended to get nanny or will in-laws help be enough?

Would you guys plan to hire a confinement nanny? Its quite expensive to do so and would prefer to not be policed on their traditional ways (what to eat and cannot bathe etc)

If your in laws won’t control you or your decisions, then in laws. Anyways for confinement, I didn’t engage CN nor ask my in laws for help. I just ordered confinement food and hubby’s help. First month they pretty much just sleep eat poop. The hard part is your sleep will be disrupted that’s all.

Keep having stomachache but can't clear out

I'm at my week 17. After today's lunch, I started to have stomachache. Went to try to clear stomach but a little came out. Kind of soft, close to watery. Then the ache stopped. After a while the ache came back again, went to try to clear stomach but again only a little bit came out. This cycle happened about 4 times and I'm in the toilet as I'm typing this message. Anyone experienced this before? Not sure if it is normal or will impact my womb or not. Advice please! #firsttimemom #advicepls #pleasehelp

Might be constipation, if this persistent you can ask for lactulose to soften bowels for easy pass motion. Do not force yourself to push to avoid abdominal pain.

Breast lumps before pregnancy

Hi mummies to be, I have fibroadenomas (lumps) in my breasts before my pregnancy and I have been going to kkh every year for ultrasounds for review. For my current pregnancy, I experienced bleeding for quite some time and was given duphaston n proluton jabs. Was worried that these hormone pills might affect the lumps but yet it seems necessary to take them to support my pregnancy. Just wondering if any mummies had similar experiences. Thank you in advance.

I don't have such experience. I wish you a speedy recovery and healthy pregnancy. You better talk to your doctor and get your doubts cleared dear mum.

I'm in my 10 weeks of pregnancy. I have recently be eating even up to 5 times a day , mostly meals. But I'm not gaining any weight? Even if I gain 1kg the next few days I would lose the weight and be back at my original weight. Should I be worried?#1stimemom #advicepls

If baby is gaining well, no need to worry about mummy’s weight :)

Prenatal insurance plan

Do you purchase any prenatal insurance plan? I am initially looking to buy a maternity insurance plan for myself but the insurance agent keeps asking me to bundle with a plan for baby (life or investment-linked). I wonder if it is necessary to buy now. Also why life or investment linked insurance for baby? I think of buying hospitalization plan and maybe education fund after the baby is born. #advicepls #firstbaby #pregnancy

It’s the company’s requirements. Some companies got standalone plans of which you can look into.

I don't feel any movement and no appetite at my 14 weeks 2 days.

Is this normal?

I don't think you can feel the movements that early. I'm at 15wks but no appetite too.

Just got a call from KK and they informed me that i’m a thalassemia carrier. :( Has anyone here have any experience being a thalassemia carrier during pregnancy? What’s the risk etc?

I did a blood test last month and the gynae told me I “may have thalassemia” hence advised me to take two dosage of vitamin D daily. Did they ask your partner to take a blood test too? Because they asked us to take to check if the baby is at risk

Less food intake

Hi im 19 weeks pregnant and I have only been eating abt 1-2meals per day. Is it normal? I don't feel hungry and always feel bloated

It is normal that during pregnancy we get bloated easily. This is due to hormones and body going through changes where our womb expands with growing baby. To avoid feeling bloated, have small small meals, eat slowly, you can drink like sparkling water/100 plus to release gas in the body, never skip meals. Always ensure you have balance diet through this pregnancy. Reduce food intake like salt, sugary or junk food. You can have multiple meals in a day as long as it small meals.
