(1) Different types of vaccines illicit different responses in the body. Some types (polysaccharide/toxoid) need more doses to build up immunity. (2) There's a disease circulating in the community and your body needs a booster shot to help you fight off said disease. This is why when polio cases started reemerging last year, the government rolled out OPV for kids. (3) As we grow older, our immunity weakens.
