Using Depo-provera aka the Birthcontrol shot seems so practical since it's effective for up to 12 weeks. I personally haven't used it but people seem to have mixed feelings on it. As per my wife's OB, if you don't want to gain weight, Depo or any other injectable contraceptives isn't for you. There's a tendency that it can increase appetite, thus leading to weight gain.
