I applied 3 months before EDD as well. Some centres asked me to reapply later when I tried to apply earlier. The process for acceptance was rather long for me. Most of the centres I applied to didnt get back to me if they have no slots. One got back to me after my EDD for additional information but they actually have no slots yet (mainly for waitlist purpose). I eventually registered with one that called us to inform us of an opening. Might be useful to call the centres you are interested in to check with them on the availability of slots for the period you intend to send your child in.
