Most of my friends prefer the upright and the cradle positions for bottle feeding. The upright position best mimic the breastfeeding position and also help control the flow of the milk from the bottle. They usually sit their baby on their laps and have the head rest on their chests or the crook of their arms. For the cradle position, they advise to check that the baby’s head is always higher than the rest of the body. These positions also offer good skin-to-skin contact which help to comfort the baby. Here a good article on the position for bottle feeding a baby: http://www.parents.com/baby/care/american-baby-how-tos/how-to-bottlefeed-baby/
