Latching Problem

My two week Old Newborn Latches on my wife But Will Stop Suckling After 5 Minutes. She Will Keep Crying (sometimes for as long as 20 mins) Until The she Finally Finds The Right Angle Or Position And Finally Latches Again. And most of the time she will not latch at all until we find the right position or angle for her. This applues sometimes to her bottle too. Is this normal?(edited)

You’re absolutely right in saying that baby only settles down when you get the right angle and position. Once they get it right, the milk can flow nicely. Breastfeeding and even bottle feeding takes a lot of practice to get it right. It’s good that you and your wife are gradually finding the right positions. Soon you’ll achieve this faster and baby will also become better at finding the best way to get milk. If you feel like you’d like more guidance, lactation consultants are attached to every hospital with gynae services, so you can try getting an appointment with them for more coaching:)

How Long is she been crying per day? If frequent, do check whether has any colic issue. Stomach bloated / wind. Try not to over feed baby too.
