Is it true that the symptoms of a heart attack appear much before it actually happens?

Not too sure if it's the same with everyone but my uncle had a heart attack not too long ago and he says that days before it happened, he felt recurring nausea, pain in his muscles, fatigue, shortness of breath and he woke up in cold sweat.
