Did you know that we are now Polio-free?!!!

Time to celebrate, Bakunanays! The World Health Organization and Department of Health announced on June 3 that the polio outbreak in the country is over. In September 2019, there was a resurgence of Polio in the country after 2 decades of declaring the Philippines as polio-free. Due to comprehensive outbreak response actions including intensified immunization and surveillance activities in affected areas of the country, the virus has not been detected in a child or in the environment in the past 16 months.   What a great news! That is why Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV) and Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) are so important to be given to our kids to fully protect them for Polio. Mommies, let's continue getting our kids vaccinated and let others know that vaccines not only protect our kids and our family, but also our community.
