Delay shower for baby

I delivered at around 8am and nurses showered my baby at 11pm the same day, as I was discharged the following morning. Never heard of the 24hrs delay but you can check with the nurses when you’re in the delivery suite.

I didn't shower my baby but requested for a clean up because there's lots of blood of her. I'm sure you can request

from what i know, kkh no longer shower newborns due to their umbilical cord, they just clean them up

But just a curious qn. Why delay showering?
