Decease in milk intake after solids
There’s a decrease in milk intake after giving my baby solids. Is this normal?
Yes it's normal.
- Hello mummies! My baby is starting solids soon! May I know when your child first started in solids, how does it affect his/her milk intake? I understand that at first, they’ll eat small quantity only, but when can those baby cereal/purée/porridge be used to replace 1 milk feed? My baby doesn’t like to drink milk so I’m hoping solids can help!G
- My lo is 9 months and below is her current routine with 5 milk intake and 2 solids, can anyone advise if this is ok? Should i be increasing her solids intake or isit ok to retain her current milk intake. 5-6am Milk (she will wake up for milk and continue to sleep till 7am) 10am Milk 1130-12noon Cereal with fruits 2pm Milk 5pm Milk 6.30pm Porridge with vegge 8.30pm Last milk feed before she sleep
I think this looks fine for a baby of your LO's age. Remember until 12 months, milk remains the main source of nutrients for kids. Try introducing some fingers foods soon. For example, steamed carrots/ brocolli, chunks of banana/ papaya.Anonymous
- Hihi, my baby is 8 month old and she is on solids 2 to 3 times a day. Her milk intake reduced by quite a bit, taking average 80 to 90ml per feed. She still wakes up one to 2 times in the middle of the night for milk. Is it normal?Anonymous
