Infant care or helper

Will you rather send your baby (below 18 months) to infant care or looked after by your helper at home? (Assuming there’s no financial issues)

Infant care! I am an Infant Care teacher myself. Not only do we carry out routine care but we also do observe the baby's developmental milestone and keep parents updated on it. Plus, whenever possible we will carry out activities to aid their development in different areas.

If my helper had experience in looking after babies, I would rather have my child stay at home. Children below 18 months old still have not developed their immune system. Infant care centers have so many people going in and out and you can’t prevent germs and bacteria being found there.

I would take a helper if money isn't an issue. I have friends working as infant teacher. From the experience they shared i don't wish to place my child in infant care. Also placing them in infant care are more vulnerable to sickness. (Which i won't want that to happen to my infant)

Depends on the ifc. Mine doesn’t make the child follow a routine or timing. It’s based on every kids needs. They really care for the kids, activities and teach them how to interact with each other. There is no way they would let a baby wait to be fed, would be so hard for them too!

infant care is better than a helper at home, because in infant care they are trained well and of course they are legal institution too, a helper at home, they have to do core work at home and of course her concentration may distracted while caring for the child in very young age.

It depend on ur comfort & luck for helper. I used to got a helper instead of sending to infant care due to e nature of my job. But my baby got abuse by the helper coz he refused to nap @ his usual time as he work up late. The helper was rushing him to nap so she can use her phone.

helper if there’s someone else at home, e.g. u or hubby work from home, grandparents at home, etc. otherwise, infant care. i don’t trust the helper to look after the baby alone. most helpers can’t handle babies, they don’t even look after their own kids.

Agreed

If money not an issue, so mummy should be there taking care of own child, to monitor their development day to day but not leave to anybody else to take care.

Helper. It’s one-on-one and needs are immediately taken care of. If you are concerned about socialising, as parents, we can always create opportunities/play dates for them :)

Probably get a helper until your child is of toddler age, then send him off to childcare where he can learn structured play, social interaction and get into routines.

I will choose infant care anytime. please note, maid is not trained and not responsible to take care of baby, they are hired to do housework, not taking care of kids
