sonographer vs. ob-sonologist
Just a piece of advice. If ever magpapaultrasound po kayo it would be better na sa ob-sonologist nyo pagawa. I had my ultrasound last week sa isang sonographer kc yun ang malapit samin. The result caused me to panic. First, It says grade III na ang placenta ko meaning malapit na ako manganak and ang placenta is not supplying enough nutrients and oxygen to the baby anymore (sinong di magpapanic, dba?). 2nd, Weight of the baby is 2.8kg (appropriate for a 36wks and 4days baby . eh 34wks palang ako that time). Tinawagan ko OB ko kc nga nagpanic ako and sakto I was scheduled for a checkup. When my ob saw the result, he requested for another ultrasound and this time gusto nya sa ob-sonologist ko pagawa dahil may mga info sya na hinahanap na wala dun sa result. I had my ultrasound with an ob-sono awhile ago. While doing the procedure ineexplain lahat sakin. Placenta is Grade II and not grade III (Nagpanic ako ng hindi dapat). Weight of the baby is 2.7kg (sakto sa 35wks na age ng baby ko talaga). Other details na wala sa previous scan ko were included sa printed result. Other comparisons - the scan with the sonographer lasted for 5mins while the scan with the ob-sono lasted for 10-15mins. I paid 500pesos for the scan made by the sonographer while 400 pesos sa scan made by the ob-sono. I am not saying that sonos are less credible, it depends siguro sa machine na gamit nila and sa sonos narin mismo. But I think for pregnant women like us, it would be advisable na ob-sonos ang gagawa ng mga scans natin para na din well informed tayo. 💙
