We have the same concern before I gave birth. It will need a lot of patience for the baby to latch. With the help of my lactation nurse, my baby was able to latch. We used empty syringe to suck the nipple but it will really get sore and cracked. But as soon as the baby can latch on his own, nipple will not be a problem anymore.
