Our friend's kid had extreme pain when his molars came through. Does anybody have any advice on how we can reduce the pain or make this easier for our kid? I am a bit worried. We know the common tricks for baby teeth, but I wondered if there's any special advice for molars. Thanks!

Gently rub his gums with a clean finger or toothbrush so that you can get to the molar area. Offer a raw carrot, cucumber or celery stick. Chilled solid teething ring (instead of a gel or liquid filled one). If he has a lack of appetite, chilled food like yoghurt may be more appealing to him. Breastfeeding or bottle feeding will cause blood to swell to the gums hence cause pain; probably better to feed using a cup. This is quite an ideal teething toy:
