No problem for my baby - we never burp her after latching. Only hold her upright for a bit during the first few months so she wont spit up. And also burped her when bottle fed.

My newborn always need to burp otherwise she will start to regurgitate milk! When babies get older may require lesser burps, as their splinter gets more developed

It depends on how old is your baby. If less than 4 months, I would recommend to burp.
