Normally how you all celebrate your baby's birthday?

Besides the usual parties, I know parents who make their child's birthday more meaningful by performing a merit/good deed in their child's name. This can include donating to a mosque/church/temple or a non-profit organisation in their child's name. My best friend would take her child to her favourite animal shelter to donate and help out. I know my dad would donate to a mosque each year me and my brothers turn a year older all the way till we secured our own jobs. We have since continued the tradition and I hope to do so for my children as well. It doesn't have to a big amount, it's the thought that counts :)
