My baby is turning one soon. Do I change his formula to stage 3 formula the day he turns one?

When your son turns 1 year old, the main source of nutrients for him would be from the solid foods that he eats - no longer from his milk. So, there are actually a few options you can consider! 1) Transition to Stage 3 formula. When your child turns 1, you can slowly transition to Stage 3, but remember to do it gradually - start by replacing one feed of the day, and then slowly replacing 2, 3, 4 ... until all his feeds are replaced! 2) Stick to Stage 2. Some babies are more sensitive to Stage 3 formula, some brands cause constipation/bowel issues, while others just do not sit well. Either way, you have the option to stick with Stage 2 formula - but always remember that all formula should be prepared as per instructions on the tin, NEVER dilute/thicken the solution. 3) Switch to fresh milk. This is the option that most parents are adopting now, transitioning their child to fresh milk! If your child has cow's milk/dairy allergy, you may consider fresh milk like soy/almond :) Otherwise, you can move on to fresh cow/goat's milk! This is the road less taken, but some children just ... don't want milk anymore after exploring the world of food! It's totally okay if your child doesn't want milk, this usually happens as the months go by and they start having preference to solids - they'd drop milk feeds one at a time, and some may not even need it before nap time if they had a good lunch! Whatever you decide to do, just make sure that your child is eating a balanced diet :)
