Many doctors recommend night time weaning and "cry it out" methods. Some babies will begin to sleep through the night between 4 to 6 months, but sleeping through the night for more than 8 hours typically occurs after 6 months. Sleeping through the night may be delayed for breastfeeding babies because they metabolite breast milk relatively fast and require more frequent feedings. Before you baby can sleep through the night, she has to have bypassed some of the physical and cognitive milestones like: - Decrease startle (or Moro) relax. The reflex usually drops significantly and disappears by 4 months. - Increased feeding and weight gain - Decreased multiple feedings during the night - Increased ability to self soothe Every baby is different and will do things on their own timeline. It happens, even with babies 10 months below. There are times that they want to sleep while being cuddled. They're always longing for the warmth of the mums. So what my wife does, she sleeps in a seating position with a nursing pillow tucked in her waist and the baby is on top of it. Sounds crazy and really not comfrotable but that's the only way my baby can take good sleep during her sleepless nights.

Babies behave differently individually. My child only sleep through the night when she was 15m. I have friends who feed their child slightly more than the usual feed for the last feeding. Perhaps you want to try that? Enlist the help from your husband or family members who are able to feed your baby in the middle of night while you get your sleep.
