Playpen or play yard

Tried a playpen those hard plastic kind but my baby is quite hard headed haha. Will scream murder if the gates are locked, but ok to play inside when doors unlocked. So defeats the purpose when i need to do kitchen work or anything else. In the end its just there as a demarcation for the play area. I got mine on carousell (baby bear zone) for two sets under 50 altogether. Original prices of playpens are couple of hundreds. And wouldnt recommend wooden ones unless super varnished and sanded down types which costs even more. The play yard seems good but never had a chance to try. Some use them to put around ur own bed so if bed sharing baby wont roll over haha
