Ineffective pump

Hi mummies! I’ve been pumping and after 20 mins, when I use my hand to hand express, I still get milk ‘sprays’ and flow. Does this mean my pump is not effective for me? Cause typically after the first 8-10 mins I don’t get anymore flow when pumping anymore. Thanks!

Do note that regardless how much you cleared, you will still have milk “sprays” / flows when you hand express because your breasts will not be empty. May I get more information on what do you mean by “don’t get anymore flow when pumping after 10mins?” As in you no more milk is coming out anymore after you pumped? Or not as much compared to the first 10mins?

You can take sunflower lecithin to thin out your milk. After 8mins does your breasts still feel full or empty? Is your flange insert size correct? Alternatively, after pumping, hand express. But do be careful in case of engorgement. 😊
