Need some encouragement

Mummies, I'm a full time mum of 2 kids. Toddler and infant. I have not been working for 3 years since I was pregnant. My family want me to go back to working field next year to see the society and learn. 他们不想我远离社会太久,然后老的时候,回头看日子就这样过罢了。他们希望我去看看这个社会,去体验人生。 My first born went to school at 18 months old. Second born will be going to school at 3 months old if i go to work. Rationally it is the best choice for me to go work. It won't be so tough on my spouse as he is the only one working now. He has to earn enough for his parents and our family of 4. There are loans and bills to pay. If I go to work, not only I can help out financially, I can even buy things that I like and for the kids. 可是我真的舍不得我的孩子。Is like kids grow up way too fast. I don't want to look back and regret time I missed spending with them. Hard to find job that I can spend time with them. I tried to apply 50 resume, but no one wants to hire me. Reason being, I do not want an OT job or 5.5 days job. Not everyone has the privilege to see their kids grow up like I do. The more I should be grateful for the years I spend as a full time mother and go back to work. But I'm really not ready. Not ready for work life and also...infant going to school at such a young age. There's no best of both worlds. Being able to earn while spending time with kids. Not much working experience... Hard to find wfh job... Hope to get some encouragement for going back to society...

it is not going to be easy whether finding a job or putting your child in ifc so you can work full time. my 2 children went to infant care ard 3months and 2.5months old. the first time was the hardest. im so full of mum guilt to think that i'd miss seeing their first flip, first crawl, first walk because it happen in school. however to be honest, there are so many much more first time that we can experience with our children together. it's which side of the story we choose to look at. so on off work hours, i make sure we spend lots of quality bonding time together. eg bedtime stories, snuggling together, talking nonsense together, playtime, outings etc... ive seen an aunt who stay home so many years such that now the boys are all in tertiary but it would be quite harder for her to step back into working society after so many years. if your hubby is able to give full financial support, i dont see why you cant continue to be a sahm. or if you'd like to, maybe even explore part time work or home base business so you get to work and socialise while having flexibility to take care of your children

That’s really good advice!

Can try look for receptionist or admin job? Try like maybe dentist assistant or similar kind? It would be nice to go thru your child’s milestone esp when they’re so young but if your situation and finances doesn’t allow then i guess you have to make a decision? Work part time maybe? For me, i teach in pre sch and when i went back to work i feel guilty - i spent 8-5 with other kids but not my own child. But i also need money right, want buy my own things and give the best to my child. Sometimes, cannot have best of both worlds.

find a company that is pro family- lots of annual leaves (21 at least) childcare leaves, etc and 9 to 5pm. think of it this way- you will be a better person to teach your children about the outside world when they ask you about it. Being financially independent can bring lots of happiness too, like bringing your kids to travel. Work doesn't have to be permanent either, you can choose to take short breaks or change to part time role when you feel like spending more time.

I understand your concerns about your children. Think about it this way, wouldn’t it be better for your child to learn how to be independent earlier? Yes jobs are hard to find, but there is will there is a way. Take your time and don’t give yourself too much stress.

You can try to start with some part time job first to get use to it. Jia you! :)

Try looking for 9am-5pm jobs like receptionist or hr assistant.
