lochia vs period

hi mummies. how to know the difference between lochia and period? im 8 weeks pp. i stop pumping and bf almost 3weeks. i stopped bleeding on my 6weeks pp and only have discharges like mucus-like. now suddenly got bleeding again but i dont know if its lochia or period bleeding. tia

Is it a lot of blood? Lochia can last 4-8 weeks but at the end it should be only a little spotting. So if you're suddenly bleeding a lot it's likely not lochia

Lochia is mostly lumpy / clots. Period is more like blood (liquidy)
