Newborn pillow is it necessarily?

Hi mummies, will u give your newborn to sleep on Nb pillow from the first day home? Read on articles say baby should not sleep with any pillows n bolster around as well as blanket. Is it safe?

I used the pillow with the circle at the middle till 1mth plus. And now at 3mths plus he prefers the adult pillow.
