Hi mommas, Please share with me affordable + effective products and also your skincare routine for your child who has the same issue as mine (severe dry skin/eczema & dandruff). My child is only 2+yo and i have run out of ideas on how to tackle this issue.

Hi mama, I can understand that it’s frustrating. I have eczema and so do my three children. It comes not only with skin irritation but even the sensitive nose and everything else…like a 2 for one package deal. Ok so for keeping the skin moisturised, I find it’s all about balance. This means that the weather is very much at play too. So what we do is, when it gets humid, we don’t put too much cream on because it’ll start to itch for the children. We wait till we get home, a cooler environment and then we lather the moisturisers on. We encourage the children to bathe in water that is not too hot. This helps with sensitive skin I feel. Products wise, we use a few: 1) Aveeno is fabulous but it is on the pricey side 2) QV is our favourite - for wash, hands, face and even moisturiser 3) SuuBalm is fantastic because of the menthol properties - helps to keep kids from scratching 4) we use peppermint and eucalyptus oil in the children’s rooms and put them in a diffuser while they sleep at night 5) we cut back on shellfish and try to reduce their gluten (brown rice, wholegrains, etc) - everything in moderation 6) sunscreen and lots of it! We are currently using the Neutrogena one 7) we keep a number of steroid creams at home coz really sometimes it’s about tricking the skin and body into reacting quickly to a sudden change in cream so that it heals faster 8) we visit NSC (national skin centre) when we feel we’ve tried everything and nothing works. It actually also helps if you start your journey here because once you know what the doctor is going to ask you to do, then you know how to manage it better and actually, you end up saving a lot more than all the trials and errors you may end up going through. Hope this helps!

i used Jo Lauren Miracle Balm on my 1mo, works like wonders! As for shower, i used Neema shower gel. Both you csn find at shopee, local sellers. The issue with other well-known brands is that they have too many ingredients that may affect long term. That's why I tried these two (Jo Lauren is SG-made) which use only natural ingredients, no funny name chemicals.

Have to keep moisturising. Hard to find affordable skincare. I brought my girl to see skin specialist and tried so many different types of lotion and cream for her. Best to check if your child is allergic to any food. I am using ceradan for my girl and it works best for her.

my LO has very bad eczema as well and had been using Alobaby lotion since awhile back, its good!! make sure LO is hydrated, less expose to sun, and dirt and dust.

My 2nd baby got a bad eczema when she was around 2-3weeks old. We just use cetaphil until she reached 2 years old. Now, its gone and no trace of it on her face.

Many of my friends used Cetaphil baby for eczema and it helped
