Must remove. They need to explore their hands and how to use them. Just trim the fingernails, it’s not difficult. It’s a good habit for you to develop too as they won’t make much fuss when you do it. As they grow older harder for them to sit still.

Hi, I suggest gradually remove the mittens completely. This will give good amount of time to the baby to get used to touching face etc. without mittens. Also, gently trim the nails of baby so that there are no scars while babies scratch their faces

Baby's face can scratch easily because the skin is still thin but they also heal super fast and definitely no chance of scarring. It's more important to remove the mittens to allow their hands to explore the environment :)

I cut my baby’s nails so we don’t have much of an issue. Otherwise there will be many scratches, though they all heal quite well. If you’re not confortable with cutting, there’s the electric nail filer you can use

Baby's skin recover very fast but must trim his nails often so it wont be too sharp! I'm using the haaka electric trimmer. It's good! Wont cut baby's skin cause its v gentle but can file his nails properly

I only remove mitten for a while as baby likes to touch her face. And I don date to trim her nails too short. Had a few accident of cutting her skin. =(
