How to get your child to talk

Hi my kid is 16 months but recently we ask him to speak the word he knows how to say he refuse. And introduce new words to ask him say he also refuse to say . Any suggestion of help?

Hey Glynnis, My first son was a late talker too - didn’t get started till 2 years old. Have you tried songs with words? Like a kids karaoke? Some songs also come with books - a good one is the Barefoot Books series. Free on YouTube and you can get the books online or Kinokuniya can bring them in.
