Why is baby not eating?

I've trained my LO to eat purees and such at around 6 months age. Now that he's 1 year old, I started to introduce to him like other food such as porridge. However, he doesn't like homemade porrigde. Even when i cooked macoroni soup for babies kind, he doesn't like it too. I tried instant meals for babies, and he rejected it also. Does this mean that he is a picky eater? Or is it because he's teething, his appetite seems to be lesser? Whenever I have a meal or my wife eats, he wants to eat what we are having, but when we prepare a meal for him, he refuses to eat. Can any daddies or mummies advice on this? His weight has dropped a little. Hence, I'm worried if myself or my wife has been doing something wrong these while.
