hi. im a dentist. yup true the dental xray radiation is not harmful enough for the fetus as very very low radiation is used and only localized at jaw area. but usually we did xray for cases that really requiring or in need of the xray becoz still we want to minimize exposure as lowest as possible to the mother. but it is by far not harmful. if the cases really really need xray, some dentists usually just did it but not too frequent at a time. that's from my experience as a dentist. as for me i usually try to avoid taking the xray unless the case is really for emergency such as for acute minor oral surgery procedure.

but do not worry mommy, not much of an effect if based on the amount of the radiation. just try avoid taking so many xray at one time

According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, x-rays are generally safe during pregnancy, but there is quite a bit of controversy surrounding this issue. Studies have been conflicting and, therefore, x-rays should only be done when the benefits outweigh the risks. http://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-health/x-rays-during-pregnancy/ http://www.fda.gov/Radiation-EmittingProducts/RadiationEmittingProductsandProcedures/MedicalImaging/MedicalX-Rays/ucm142632.htm
