Yes! I have read that during pregnancy, mommy's body will produce progesterone which is the hormone that relaxes our muscle to prepare for birth. This hormone will cause the opening at the top of our stomach to relax and hence allow gastric acid to escape resulting in sign of heartburn. This is especially common when we are sleeping and in lying position. One way to reduce the discomfort from heartburn during the 1st trimester is to sleep on a higher pillow so that your stomach is lower than your head. Jia you! It's all worth it when your baby is out. :)

It’s normal. Eat smaller meals more frequently and avoid drinking while eating. Eat slowly and chew every bite thoroughly. Avoid eating a few hours before bed. Stay upright for at least one hour after a meal.

Heartburn can also be due to indigestion. May not be a sign of pregnancy though.

I get heartburn after everything I eat and drink. #9W5D
