Preterm epidural
Hi, I’m at risk if preterm. Is epidural necessary? Will labour be faster & less uncomfortable?

Epidural is just to reduce the pain level that you might feel during labour. It doesn’t speed up your labour. Ultimately you will still feel some pain during labour as you need to know when is your contraction and to push your baby out. My suggestion if you are scared of pain or your pain tolerance is extremely low, then go for epidural. I only took laughing gas and to me it’s bearable. It’s up to you to decide.

it depends on what is your condition? if you have incompetent cervix, then maybe you’ll dilate very fast and therefore makes labour faster? anyway, better to check with the professionals.
