I'm going for status conference regarding the custody without a lawyer. (Infant Guardianship, not divorce yet) May I ask for Counselling and mediation at the Child Focused Resolution Centre (CFRC) first before hiring a lawyer? Hope to resolve the issue amicably. how is it like?

Yes you can. It would be ideal if the issue can be settled through counselling and mediation without the need of a lawyer. However you may also seek advise from the family court directly. That would be the best option. There are various platforms besides the (CFRC). Hope this helps.

The status conference is this week, I haven't hired a lawyer even I have a drafted affidavit. I want to request for CFRC because I suspect her lawyer is not sharing with her the right information.
