I introduced red rice to my baby when he was closed to 7 months old. You can try getting short-grain rice as it cooks up more soft than long or medium grain rice. I grinded it into power. Then boiled about 1/4 small rice cup of rice power with 1 cup of water and stirred constantly. Then simmered for 10 mins, whisking constantly, mixed with breast milk and served it warm. The texture should be thick and creamy. You can also try the same recipe for oats. Occasionally, i will add mashed bananas into the serving.

Yeaup sounds like the right steps. You can try adding some breast milk before blending or pureeing the rice and quinoa mixture as well.
