I’m so confused. I was admitted during my 30th week because my doctor said my cervix had opened by 1 cm and that my baby was breech. They put me on dexa shots just in case I went into early labor and gave me progesterone to take for 7 days after discharge. By God's grace, I’m now 37 weeks. But when I saw my OB again for an IE, she said my cervix was still high and 'tight,' and the baby is now in a head-down position. It really threw me off because when I was 30 weeks, they said my cervix was already open and low. Is it possible for a cervix to close up after it has opened? This is the same OB who did the first IE, and I’m just so unsure now.

I totally get why you’re feeling lost—it’s a lot to take in! At 30 weeks, when your cervix was open and the baby was breech, it was definitely a cause for concern. But now, at 37 weeks, it seems like your cervix has "closed up" and your baby has turned head-down, which is actually a great sign. Cervical changes aren’t always the same from one exam to the next, so it’s totally normal for things to shift like this. The progesterone and other treatments you’ve had could be helping to stabilize things. It’s just part of how your body adjusts as you get closer to delivery.
