Baby sleeping

Hi I want to ask how did your train your 1 month old to sleep on his or her own? My baby is 1 month 20 days and I have been training her to sleep on her own with techniques like swaddle, keep room dark, let her self soothe, pacifier, but still she can't sleep well in the night. It's really tiring as a mum and I can't sleep in the night also, cos I will be thinking when will she start crying again. Wonder how do your cope and do your feel the same way as me.. hope your can give me some encouraging advice . Thanks! I keep telling myself to hang in there but really I need to voice out sometimes .

It is very normal for baby at 1mo to wake up 2-3 hourly for milk, especially if baby is on breastmilk. What I did when my baby was 1mo is that my husband and I take turn to feed her at night and we let her drink formula milk at night so that she can “sleep” longer. I set a routine for my baby when she’s 2mo, I’ll always put her to bed at 7ish no matter what. Slowly she get use to it and 3mo she can sleep on her own. I keep night time activity simple for her, no activity that are over stimulating and no one should play with her. So she got use to it and I always tell her it’s bedtime, kiss her good night and out her down to sleep. Now she’s turning 5mo, can sleep on her own and sleep through the night too.
