Domestic helper schedule

Hi mummies I am hiring a migrant domestic worker (MDW) to help out with household and baby but not sure how to set her schedule at home. Actually on normal weekdays my kid is at school and nobody at home, so she just cleans the house.then when baby comes back, she will help to take care, feed ,bathe etc Can mummies who have experience share how do your set work schedule for your MDW? Thanks !

Below is just my household style, my 2 cents worth. You have to see if she is hired mainly for the kids or housework? For my household, definitely to handle the kids then housework secondary. She doesn’t have any schedule aparts from waking up to prepare the kid for school (6am) then she can go back to sleep after they leave and wake up (usually she wakes up at 9~11am) to do housework till the kids are back. If we cannot wait for her to finish, then do it ourselves while she handle the kids. Else the other way round. My POV is give and take abit, always put yourself in her stand when planning. They are paid, but at the same time many employers forget they are just human and can only do this much. (My grandma for example) I’m thankful that mine is appreciative and won’t take this for granted, she’s been with us for 10 years 😊.

Baby fell down from stroller

Hi mummies, my 9 month old baby fell down from stroller as she was standing on the stroller seat and lost her balance. I should have restrained her with he safety belt, felt so guilty. :( She fell headown on the hard floor and cried badly. I'm so worried if her neck will be sprained. Did any mummies experience before ?

I have the same experience with my son. He fell down from the bed. Thank god it was just a minor accident. If you have any doubt. better to your baby's doctor, take care of your son. God bless you.

Hi all FTWM, wonder how do your cope at work when Ur have to wake up in the middle of the night like 3,4am to feed baby (when baby cries) then wake up again at 6plus to go work? Like not enough sleep how to concentrate at work? My kid is 2m going 3m, and I'm going back to work soon. Thanks !

Breast milk and formula

Hi mummies, I have a problem, my two month old is drinking expressed breast milk and formula in bottle quite steadily until one day she refused to drink breast milk. She will stop sucking from bottle and throw up the breast milk. I suspect she finds the taste less flavorful than formula milk. Can mummies advise what I should do to make my baby drink breast milk ? Thanks !

Hi mummies I'm going back to work soon, my baby is 2 months old. Now she still has night feeds at 2 am and 6am. Wonder how you guys cope with night feeding baby and how much sleep do your get in a day? How to survive at work with interrupted sleep? Hahah Thanks !

haha just try to rest as much as you can. can take turns with hub for motn feed also. it will get better as the time goes.. baby will be able to sttn and reduce to one night feed after 3 mth

Hi all FTWM, do your mind to share your 24hr schedule when your go back to work at 3mth plus, 4 mth? Like what time your wake up to pump, feed, sleep, as I am trying to prepare myself when I go back to work in a month's time. Currently I'm pumping evry 4 hr and sleeping when baby sleeps, but when work comes in, I'm pretty sure the schedule will change . Thanks for sharing!

Plan to breastfeed your baby in the morning before you go to work, then pump every 3 to 4 hours during the day (depending, of course, on your baby's frequency at home). That means that if you're away from your baby for 10 hours during the day, for instance, you'll be pumping at least 3 times at work.

Hi I want to ask how did your train your 1 month old to sleep on his or her own? My baby is 1 month 20 days and I have been training her to sleep on her own with techniques like swaddle,keep room dark, let her self soothe, pacifier, but still she can't sleep well in the night. It's really tiring as a mum and I can't sleep in the night also, cos I will be thinking when will she start crying again. Wonder how do your cope and do your feel the same way as me.. hope your can give me some encouraging advice . Thanks! I keep telling myself to hang in there but really I need to voice out sometimes .

It’s very normal for baby to wake up 3hrly for milk , and they can slp through the night when they are ready. You cannot slp train ur 1 mo old. They are super reliant on you for food and comfort at this stage. You can take turns with ur hubby to wake up to feed baby, or just nap in the daytime when baby nap.
