No love at first sight for baby

I cried when I first saw my precious newborn. However don't know why I didn't really exactly fell in love with her on the first day. I looked at her, I couldn't believe she is my daughter & I am her mother. Mixed feelings.. Anyone else felt the same before?

Just would like to share with you i cried when i realised my baby don’t look anything like me. He looks like my husband which i thought i should be ok with but turns out i got so sad. Esp when pple keep saying abt it. I think when u just give birth, you have all this surging hormones in you. Thinking back, i couldn’t believe i got so affected by it. Its okay to feel what you are feeling now. As the day passes by, it will all make sense and you will learn to love your little one like no other. Give yourself time to learn about your baby and love her. I also thought that it will come naturally to me but it didn’t. It took me one month to feel this amazing bond with my son and i hope you will feel it soon too!

Wth why would the nurse say such thing

Lol same here! I thought i will cry also because when i'm watching birthing video, i tear up when baby comes out. When my baby came out, i was just looking at her while she was being cleaned up and i was wondering why she has big head and her legs were not so straight. But, I felt the "magic" the first time she was brought to our room. I remember I was feeling miserable after coz i was pukey, sleepy and tired. I was just forcing myself to eat at least few spoons of food since i havent eaten for like a day and sleep after but the moment she entered the room, i cannot explain how i felt. All those bad feeling instantly went away. I was able to finished my food and was able to stay up till 9pm.

I think your love and bond will build up day by day. It starts from when you feed her, comfort her when she gets scared or cranky, change diaper, play with her etc. I love my daughter the moment I saw her. I can’t describe the feeling of love, it’s so much beyond words!! Don’t worry your love and feeling will come slowly :-)

I didnt cry for all my 3 babies lol.. for me i guess my love builds up during bfeeding and caring for them day n night..dont worry k.. that special little baby is going to call you mummy and you will mean the whole world to her.. give yourself time n work on that beautiful bond! All the best!

Im happy i got pregnant. But have yet to feel love at first sight. tho seeing the baby inside me through scans. I don’t want to feel unappreciated that i can conceive but sometimes i asked myself, am I wrong to not feel grateful yet?

Hey Mum, i think you are just overthinking this. The affection and love is developed gradually with various kinds of interactions. Please do not worry and enjoy these moments.

Same.. but my love grows as I look after my baby on a daily basis. Now, I look forward to end of work to see my baby and hubby. So don't worry mommy!

6 months and i also never fall deeply in love with lo.. Maybe the feeling is too overwhelming.. Try to relax and enjoy lo presence
