With these discouraging statistics however, how do I increase my chances?

My husband is 2 yrs younger than me. Few years in our marriage was a struggle b/c of so many factors (personality, values, perspective and age for sure played a factor too, although our gap is not that big). But i think whatever age it is in any relationship, it's always communication and compromise that will help the relationship grow and thrive.
