How much should I allocate in my budget for a general helper? Does it matter if it is an expat household?

I honestly think helpers don't deserve low salaries. Maintaining the house isn't an easy thing. If it is, then we could've done it ourselves despite having jobs and parenting responsibilities. I think it doesn't matter at all if the boss is an expat or not. Think of all the duties she has to fulfill and with that, think of how much you want to receive if you were the one in her shoes.

Helpers nowadays are getting more demanding, especially when they are in an expat household. My cousin with an Australian hubby gives her helper P10k. My Indian neighbor gives P5k, and one American friend allocates P8k for his house help.
