Room temperature – Freshly expressed milk can be kept at room temperature for up to 4 hours. Refrigerator – Breast milk can be kept at the back of the fridge for up to 4 days. If you’re not going to use refrigerated breast milk within 4 days of pumping, freeze it right after pumping. Freezer – Milk can be stored for up to 6 months. Put them toward the back of the freezer where the temperature is most constant. Milk stored at 0°C or colder is safe for longer durations, but the quality of the milk might not be as high. At normal room temperature (23-26 degrees), breastmilk can stay fresh for up to 4 hours [up to 10 hours in lower room temperature, 19-22 degrees] Refrigerated milk can be stored for 3-8 days. Frozen milk can be kept for 3-4 months (some guides even state up to 6 months) Image taken from: http://www.ameda.com/breast-pumping/storage-handling/storage-guidelines You can also refer to this link for some useful guide on storing breast milk (such as learning how to identify spoilt milk): http://ph.theasianparent.com/rules-of-breastmilk-storage/
