Hope your little one feels better soon. Avoid touching the end of the tube against your child's eye, eyelashes or any other surface. Apply a half-inch (1cm) strip of ointment inside the inner surface of your child's lower eyelid. Let go of their lower eyelid and ask your child to close their eyes for a few minutes. Put the top back on the ointment tube.

Oh, may I ask why you need to put ointment in the eye? Prescribed by pd? If prescribed, the pd or nurse would have explained how that can be done, if not, pls call them to ask. Hope your little one gets better soon.
