Ask your friends who have different OBs if your discomfort is normal, or if their OBs are doing the same thing. If not then it's a sign that something is wrong. Doing your homework and looking up the proper procedure would also put your mind at ease.

Yeah, usually there is a female nurse assisting so in the event something goes wrong or gets weird, there is a third person witness. If you feel something is off, or you're suddenly uncomfortable, voice your concern as soon as possible.

Standard protocol ensures that a nurse (usually female) is right beside to observe if there is anything unusual happening during the physical examination.

Generally there is a nurse in the room too. If you feel uncomfortable please change doctors and maybe opt for a female?
