Have you ever regretted not having kids? I feel this way sometimes and feel guilty about it.

I have a colleague who's about mid 50s now. She has a few times mentioned that she regretted not having kids, and she realized that while husbands can change (not that she is having problems), children will always be hers. She feels that if she has one now, it would be selfish for her kids because they would have to witness both parents' burials at an early age and no one would be there for them.

I won't because I don't feel ready to be a mother yet. At least not now. Cannot imagine myself taking on the huge responsibility of raising another human being. That being said, I do sometimes feel guilty towards my hubby but am very grateful that he could understand my point.
